Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where did you get your ideas?

My stories come from nowhere and everywhere. I constantly find inspiration around me, from the beautiful and mysterious place where I live to the mundane bits and pieces of everyday life. Writer’s block is never one of my problems – trying to find the time to write all the stories I want to is much tougher for me!

2. Who do you think will be interested in your novels?

I wrote stories for readers of all ages. My historical novels are aimed at anyone who might be interested in what actual day-to-day life was like during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Reformation. Many history books deal with big ideas like kings and queens and wars. I wanted to write a story that showed how regular people spent their time. The settings are historically accurate, but the characters are all fictional. My contemporary stories hold magic of a different sort, and I try to find a route into the minds and motivation of the most interesting characters I can find!

3. Are there any other stories about Darrell, Brodie and Kate?

There are three stories in the Eagle Glen series that tell about the adventures of this time-traveling trio and their dog. Darrell’s story finishes with the third book, but I’m not sure I’m done with Eagle Glen just yet!

4. I’d like more information on eating disorders or Crohn’s disease. Where should I look?

There are tons of good sites on the internet and a bunch that are not so good. I recommend checking out responsible sources of information, such as the Mayo Clinic: www.mayoclinic.com. If you check the ‘Links’ page, you can find a few more interesting places to look. But the best resource for information is to talk to your doctor.

5. Do you have a study guide for teachers?

Yes. You can download teachers' guides from the main page of this website. If you have any other questions, send me an email, and I will reply as soon as I can.

6. What are you writing now?

I am working on a contemporary mystery for adults and another series for young adults. I have also finished a Canadian time travel novel. I hope they will all be published soon!

7. Where can I buy your books?

My books are available at any bookstore in Canada or on the internet at Indigo.Chapters.ca and Amazon.com.

Autographed copies are available. For more details, please email me at contact@kcdyer.com.
