Every year I sponsor youth scholarships to the Surrey International Writers' Conference, enabling young writers who might otherwise not be able to attend to do so. It's one of the highlights of my year, reading the applications -- including samples of their work. This year seven young writers, aged from 15 to 21 will take part virtually or in person at the conference.
I hope the workshops and panels they attend this year will help them on their way to publication. We've had many scholarship winners in the past go on to have their work published and even make careers as writers and in the industry. I wish this year's batch all the luck!
