Featured writer: Sonali Dev

In celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth, I'm featuring a BIPOC writer for every day of February. And as a special treat for subscribers to my newsletter, each week one lucky reader will win a copy of a book from all of that week's seven featured writers. This week's draw is tomorrow! Not a subscriber yet? Scroll to the bottom of this page, and sign up!

Sonali Dev is an award-winning writer who lives with her family in Chicago. In person, she is a lovely human being who delights in her children and her community. And as a writer, Sonali excels in creating family dynamics so complex they'd give Jane Austen pause, while endowing each with her own particular Bollywood twist.

Her latest book, RECIPE FOR PERSUASION, is a heartwarming romantic comedy set in the world of reality tv, and featuring the simmering romance between Chef Ashna Raje and soccer star Rico Silva. Food for the Gods, or recipe for disaster?

This book is another delightful instalment in the saga of the Raje family, descended from Indian royalty, but living in the US, that began in PRIDE, PREJUDICE AND OTHER FLAVORS.

Sign up for my newsletter at kcdyer.com, and you can win a copy of Sonali's book, along with books by every featured writer this week, including Waubgeshig Rice, CL Polk, Debbie Ridpath Ohi, Nalo Hopkinson, Mahtab Narsimhan and tomorrow's surprise feature. Two more giant book prize draws this month. The next one could belong to you!
